July is arguably the best month for dry fly fishing in Iceland. Some people (myself included) like risking it a little and opt for late June but the most stable dry fly fishing, hatches and weather conditions are in July. Arguably the best dry fly fishing in Iceland is on the river Big Laxa and most serious dry fly fishermen prefer the Laxardalur beat since there the biggest fish live. For quantity of fish the beats below the dam, Myvatnssveit beat and a tributary of Big Laxa, Reykjadalsa, are the best.
In July we have some dates available on the Big Laxa River on all beats but the Laxardalur is nearly sold out and we only have days in late July available. On Myvatnssveit beat we have a little more available in July. On Reykjadalsa we have only a few rods here and there but July is likely to be sold out soon.
We can combine dry fly fishing for brown trout with some Arctic char fishing on Brunna in early July as we have 2 days available on Brunna from July 2. - 4. We also have a few days left on Litla River in early July but these dates only became available due to cancellation and they are likely to sell out quickly.
