Due to cancellations we now have 5 days fishing on the best week on Vatnsdalsa River. The dates are July 29. - August 3. and for these 5 days in 2013, 150 salmon were landed but the 5 year average for those 5 days is 92 salmon. The second July spring tide is on July 28. and so, judging by our experience, the biggest runs come in for the 3 days before and the 3 days after spring tide.

With the river filling up with fresh fish the surface action for those days can be magical. Out of 150 salmon landed for these 5 days in 2013, 34 were caught using the hitch. This is a rare chance to get to fish this week on the Vatnsdalsa and this is the chance to secure this week for the coming years. Fishing season around the corner

Written by Stjani. Posted in News.

fishing huso seatrout 4With just over 2 weeks until the fishing season in Iceland starts we are getting ready for the busy season. On April 1. the sea trout season opens as well as a handful of brown trout rivers. For the first few days we will be travelling in the north going from river to river, make a few casts, speak to our friends who are fishing and reporting on the fishing. Starting on April 10. we have clients fishing for trout and sea trout and from then on out we will have trips almost back to back.

Currently we are going over the fishing we still have available and posting these trips and dates online. In some cases we have single rods available here and there and in others we have full trips, meaning all rods for particular dates. Two of those are trips to the Svarta in Bardardalur River. We have 3 days on the top beat and 5 days on the lower beats. Both of these trips can be seen here

We will send out a newsletter with all the trips we have available in the summer of 2014 in the next few days. If you want to recieve that newsletter along with more in the future please sign up for our newsletter. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter
