About the river:
The Langa River is one of Iceland's better known rivers. This river offers great fly water with great access and minimum wading so it is suited for most anglers. The river is perfect for the riffle hitch method. Langa River is only about an hours drive from Reykjavik and the lodge offers great comfort and wonderful meals. The average catch rates are around 2000 fish on a 5 year average but in 2013 some 2.800 salmon were landed.
Fished with a total of 12 rods on 6 beats that each offer great variety of pools and new challenges for anglers. The beauty of Langa is that most pools hold a good number of fish so there is plenty of action to be had. The scenery is breahtaking and the river is perfectly suited for single handed rods, floating lines and small flies or rifffling hitch.
